The day started out rainy, and the temperature was cool and windy. Shortly after we began, the temperature warmed up and the sun came out. People were taking off their jackets, and we ended up having perfect weather for a pheasant shoot. There were ten stations where participants had an opportunity to shoot flying pheasants one by one as they were released from a tower located in the middle of a circle of hay bales scattered throughout a field. Each station had 2-3 people posted behind the hay waiting for birds to be released. Approximately 200 birds were released individually and people got an opportunity to shoot from every angle as they rotated from station to station. The anticipation of not knowing which direction the birds would fly made us stay on out toes with gun in hand. We did very well and shot down most of the birds.
A huge thank you to Jim Lee for putting this event together. He did a spectacular job of organizing this shoot. It was a great experience for everyone to gather, greet, and go pheasant shooting! We hope that we can offer this fun Pheasant event again in the future.
