The image was taken by photographer David Irwin just over a year before this large male died of natural causes. It was a long and rigorous trip where the photographer almost lost his life on the journey. I reached out to him regarding the image and got rights to do the painting. I am currently working on several new works of art using David’s photography of some North American wildlife.”

The hunt is for the hunter’s choice of either a Sika Deer or an Axis Deer on his ranch. The choice of weapon is up to the hunter.
