Newsletter August 2016
For years, the Arkansas Chapter of Safari Club International has sponsored Arkansas youth participating in the NRA Youth Hunting Education Challenge both at the state and national levels. Locally, the Arkansas Chapter of SCI fields a team of volunteers to feed over 100 other volunteers at the statewide YHEC event held every summer at the C. A. Vines 4H center in Ferndale. The event features hundreds of youth from across the state and includes parents and coaches for a fun filled competitive outdoor hunting and shooting recreational event. YHEC focuses on safety, responsibility, conservation and education of future generations of our hunting community. As such, the Arkansas Chapter of SCI is proud to support this event and encourages members to become involved in our chapter’s outreach to youth shooting sports, as youth control the future of our traditions.
Additionally, the Arkansas Chapter of SCI awards cash grants to school and county youth shooting clubs every year to help in purchasing equipment and supplies. If you would like to become involved with our club activities supporting Arkansas youth shooting sports please contact Jeff Nicholas at firstname.lastname@example.org.
