Warrior Hunt – Zebra Hunt, October 2017, Bakersfield, TX
Dear SCI Members,
I want to express my extreme gratitude to Gary Acord and the Arkansas Chapter of SCI for sponsoring me on a Warrior Hunt. Recently I was able to accompany Gary to Jack Matthew’s ranch to harvest a zebra that Jack wanted removed. For me, this was an experience of a lifetime and one I never would have had without your generosity. Thank you so much for providing me with this experience and for your support of veterans. During my time serving I have seen tremendous support for our military from citizens/organizations and that was not always the case. Troops today can’t even imagine what it was like for those that served during the Vietnam era. Support like what is provided by SCI members helps boost the morale of those who served and those who are still serving.
I am honored to serve and plan to serve as long as I’m able. All of my time is with the Arkansas Army National Guard and includes two deployments to Iraq along with some shorter tours and training. Both deployments were with the Arkansas based 39th Infantry Brigade.
I work on Camp Robinson and live in Bryant with my wife Dawn. Dawn and I have two sons Dillon and Dalton. Both have also joined the Arkansas Army National Guard and are proud of serving. Dillon has completed his initial training as a helicopter mechanic and is attending UALR. Dalton is at his initial training as a dental tech and will attend UCA when he returns.
Thanks again for providing me with this tremendous experience. It is one that I will cherish and will remember for the rest of my life.
